A real intention
Who we are
Located in the South of France, in the heart of the Hérault region of Occitanie, we are the Wendling and Baumgaertner family, who have been organic producers for over 20 years on our small family farm.

Siegfried Wendling, alias "Siegi", is a highly experienced master carpenter, always ready to draw his measuring tape to use his ingenuity and develop new growing techniques . Very inquisitive by nature, when he undertakes something he goes into the smallest details, and he will be your product reference if you have any questions.

Barbara Baumgaertner, alias 'BB', the mother agronomist by training, is not to be outdone when it comes to cultivation techniques. She's in charge of administration and accounts, so make sure you revise your multiplication tables if you come across her!

Julien Wendling, aka "Poukie" ("buckie" in German), Son, has just completed his agricultural training (BP REA) and is passionate about growing hemp. He puts his knowledge into practice and is constantly looking to improve his techniques. He is also the point of reference for events.
Our experience :
Since 2004, we have acquired significant experience in various crops, starting with market gardening and rearing laying hens for sale on the farm. We then developed a small poultry farm before turning to growing old varieties of wheat and then spelt. We also produced hay, then sainfoin, and finally field crops such as potatoes and beans, where we were able to work with Locavorium. Then we entered the COVID period... this time of refocusing made us want to develop an activity with Julien, our son. He suggested we grow CBD hemp, and that's when we discovered the uses and benefits of this wonderful plant. We love experimenting and testing, so in 2021 we decided to embark on the crazy adventure of producing hemp for CBD products on 2 hectares of our farm.
Our Culture and Methods :
Our plants are sown, grown, harvested and dried on the farm in Aspiran. We grow in the open field, under the sun, not under UV lights in greenhouses! Here in the South of France, with around 320 days of sunshine a year, our hemp is bursting with sunshine!
The planting is done on plots amended with a green manure, sainfoin; this one being very mellifère, the few hives that we have allow our bees to make a tasty honey.
What's more, we've given up using plastic film to control weeds, because for us, weeds don't exist. Every plant has its place in nature, creating a balance if we let it. It is this balance that allows our Hemp to be free from any treatment, such as products to combat insects or fungi, which are nevertheless authorised in organic farming. Zero treatment!
After all, do you prefer tomatoes grown in the sunshine in the most natural conditions possible, or those grown indoors in glasshouses? Do you prefer tomatoes imported from abroad, exposed to treatments that are unknown and not practised in France? Or with total production transparency? Of course, this is also true of hemp for CBD.
Why the name 'Weedling's Finest'?
Our surname being Wendling, it's quite natural that we thought of this play on words, "Weedling's Finest" literally meaning the "Best of the weed" (...or "of the weed"!?), a name tested and approved by those around us. It was also an opportunity to underline our desire to produce quality products.
